Margate Soul Festival is the UK’s signature soul event held annually on the first weekend of August. It began in 2002 on Fort Hill (Carnival Corner) with Eli Olby’s, a sound system, local guest DJs and an intimate crowd of music lovers.
By 2006 it had grown beyond all expectations and it was in 2011 with support from Essex based station, Zero Radio, it took on a new life. It was the 2015 partnership with Gordon Mac and the team at Mi-Soul Radio that turned this event into a worldwide phenomenon, as the fastest growing soul music event of its type.
Now our main outdoor arena ‘The Redstripe Sunset Stage provides the backdrop to 2 days of live music, DJ’s and dancing, whilst The iconic structure of Margate Winter Gardens and Olby’s Soul Cafe offer 6 rooms of music for thousands of happy people over an entire weekend.
Now in its 17th year, it comfortably sits among one of Europes best summer events.
